Once it was easier for an actor to find an agency, now it is more complicated. There are two types of agent:
- Agents who help you in all the paperwork and employment bureaucracy,
- Old-fashioned agents, who fully understand the abilities of the actors they represent so they can influence, direct and facilitate their careers.
In knowing the actor, agents create the right conditions for them to work, this is the best type of agency.
Many agencies focus on churning out contracts, one must beware of this. The agent is a person who can greatly help the actor creatively and artistically.
