A filmmaking Academy open to individuals of all levels of experience from all over the world. Focus Movie Academy offers aspiring filmmakers intensive training in direction, editing, photography, screenwriting, audio, distribution, production, public speaking, storytelling, accountancy and history of cinema on the backdrop of Florence.

Once you have completed your studies you have the opportunity of carrying out an internship where you can hone your skills and gain precious experience of working for a company that operates in the cinema and television sector.
Subjects studied
Editing
Editing is the final phase of the narration: with our course you will learn about editing programmes, how to import and export files efficiently, how to synchronise audio and video, various techniques for colour correction and everything you need to become a professional editor.
Direction
During the Direction course students analyse the creative process necessary for creating an audiovisual product; studying the role of the director and the various phases of cinema production, the importance of the correct frame as well as practical lessons on how to create a film set and understanding the roles of the various crew members.
Cinema photography
The course provides you with the essential knowledge for becoming a director of photography: learn about a video camera and how to use it, the importance of different lenses, the rules of composition and exposition. Practical lessons on how to set the lighting to create the right.
Screenwriting
This course focuses on the different phases of screenwriting: from the initial idea to the final stages, storytelling, different genres, characterisation, dialogue and the importance of an effective ending.
Production
During this course you will learn about the various phases of production, roles on set, production and distribution companies, how to participate in a festival and more: organisation on set, planning work schedules and all that concerns production on set.
Thematic areas
During the filmmaking course other areas of focus include: audio, history of cinema, public speaking, accountancy, storytelling, work experience and practical studio experience.
